Once upon a time there was a child
ready to be born.
So one day he asked God: "They tell me that you are
sending me to Earth tomorrow, but how am I going to
live there, being so small and helpless?"
And God answered. "I chose an angel for you. She
will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
"But here in Heaven all I ever do is sing and smile
and laugh. That's enough for me to be happy".
"Your angel will sing for you and will smile for you every day.
And you will feel your angel's love and be happy.''
"And how am I going to be able to
understand when people talk to me if I
don't know the language that men speak?"
Your angel will speak to you using
the sweetest, most beautiful words you will
ever hear; and with much patience and care,
you angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I talk to you?"
"Your angel will place your hands
together and will teach you how to pray."
I've heard that on Earth there
are bad men. Who will protect me."
"Your Angel will defend you,
even if it means risking her life."
"But I will be sad because
I will not see You anymore."
"Your angel will talk to you about Me, and
will teach you the way for you to come back
to Me, though I will always be beside you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven.
Voices from Earth could already be heard, and the
child asked softly. "God, if I am about to leave now,
would you please tell me my angel's name?"
"You will call your angel: Mommy."

Our daughter Janet had a
very difficult pregnancy. She had preeclampia / toxemia and was on complete
bed rest for over 7 weeks.
This is a progressive disease of high blood pressure and protein in
the urine which can cause damage to both baby and mother.
Baby
was born with no problems. He is a beautiful baby
with lots of hair and already has a cowlick just like his big
brother Kal.
Janet has remaining problems.
They discharged both to home but they put Janet back in the hospital
after being home only 2 days. I have been keeping baby and 4
year old big brother Kal. Wow, I really feel old!
They finally discharged Janet
after giving her a large dose of magnesium which has somewhat
helped her. I do believe now that she will always have high
blood pressure. Her parental grandmother had toxemia back in
the late 1930's so we don't know if it is inherited or not.
As smart as doctors are,
they still don't know what causes this disease or how to treat it.
In remote locations it is usually fatal.
We are very lucky to have
such a beautiful baby boy and a very tired but alive mother.
1-14-03 Gage's check
up today was good. He is gaining weight slowly so they put him on
double calorie formula. Janet had the best checkup yet.
Dr. said he thinks the preeclampia/toxemia is totally out of her.
They will do a few tests later to see if there was any kidney damage
and to determine if her blood pressure problems
are over.
2-20-04 Gage just spent 4
days in the hospital with RSV. They kept him on oxygen
and gave him breathing treatments of albutarol every 2 hours.
He seems to be improving nicely.
1-23-06 Gage has continued
in good health but for needing tubes in his ears. He also has
asthma. I do need a recent picture.
