My name Is Christian James.  I was born on
January 28, 2003.
I am 19 3/4 inches long.

I am a "premie".



This picture was made when I was 30 minutes old.

I was born 5 weeks too early, but my Mommy was in the hospital for 6 weeks on bed rest before I was born.
She fell on the ice and landed on her stomach. She had contractions from Dec. 7  until I was born. They fed her 3 extra large meals a day plus 3 big snacks trying to get my weight up.  They also gave her several shots to develop my lungs.  I was born at 35 weeks, 3 days, but 40 weeks is a normal pregnancy.  All they did must have worked cause I weighed 6 lbs 12 ozs.

Now I am at home with Mommy & Daddy. They consider me a miracle cause Mommy only had 1 tube & ovary cause the other ones ruptured several years ago. The doctors told her she would never have children. I really was a surprise to everyone. I waited until Mommy was 39. But guess what -- she had a birthday while in the hospital and she was 40 years old when I was born.  That's ok, cause

 "Life really does begin at 40!"

This picture was made 5 minutes before they took Mommy to have my C-section. 

Granny stayed with us the first week cause Mommy did not know how to take care of a little baby.  Boy, does she have a lot to learn.

Granny told me not to worry cause she will take good care of me.  She also told me that my Great Grandmother died the same day the Challenger exploded.  And then 17 years later, I was born the week the Columbia exploded.
