Lisa’s memorial page for Buster, the love of
her life!
Buster
1993 - 2009
I will miss you forever.
I will love you much longer.
In the summer of 1994, I found the prettiest blonde & white
Chihuahua at the local animal shelter.
The shelter actually flipped a coin to see who would get to
adopt him as several people wanted him.
I won! It was the luckiest day of my life!
He weighed only 7 lbs, but had the heart & personality of the
largest of dogs!
My heart belonged to him from the first moment I met him.
He never knew he was a dog. He was a little man in the body of
a Chihuahua.
When Buster was 10 years old, I was hospitalized for pre-term
labor.
My doctor wrote a standing order that Buster be allowed to
visit me in the hospital.
He was perfectly happy curled up next to me under the covers.
He soon had a hospital full of new friends.
My husband & Buster were greeted as celebrities when they
arrived.
As Buster got older, his health began to decline.
He was diagnosed with a heart murmur caused by an enlarged
heart.
We always knew that he had a very large heart. Here was
medical proof.
He also developed a large anal tumor.
By the time he was 16 years old, he was totally blind.
He was able to get around very well in our house.
We took our bed off the frame & put pillows on the floor
to help him get on & off the bed.
I had to take him to be put to sleep on July 9, 2009.
I do not know if I can ever get over this.
I did not know anyone could cry so much.
I wear his dog tag on a chain around my neck.
“Thank you, Buster for allowing me to be a part of your life
for so long.
My only comfort now is that I will see you again someday”
